My fiance's son introduced him to Traminer Riesling from Rosemount Estates about eight years ago. His son had been to a wine tasting and this riesling was judged as the
best wine tasted during the event. Over the years, we have used it whenever there was occasion for wine, but the preferences of the group were diverse or unknown. Each time, it was a big hit, even with red wine drinkers who lean more towards a dry wine.
Rosemount Traminer Riesling is a versatile white wine that is sure to please almost every palate. By visual assessment, the 2004 vintage could be described as being pale straw with faint green highlights. It's nose is definitely citric and reminiscent of lemons with a bit of spice.

This is a good off-dry white wine with a plethora of fresh citrus fruit flavors and great mineral overtones that will satisfy a wide range of wine enthusiasts. It has a lengthy finish and becomes even smoother as the glass empties. Rosemount Estate Traminer Riesling goes particularly well with fruit, salad or a mild-flavored fish. It is definitely worth a try
It is interesting to note that Rosemount Traminer Riesling was awarded the distinction of being named by Wine Spectator Magazine at the wine of the week for March 14, 05 and rated at 87 points. The average retail price for this wine is listed at $8.00 and it is a steal at that price. However, we have been lucky enough to find it at discount wine warehouses for about $6.00 a bottle and that is a remarkable bargain!
