Freemark Abbey Bosche is a wine worth trying if you're fond of a rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. We picked up a bottle at a Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits shopFreemark Abbey Bosche because it was an incredible bargain. Being a Chairman's Selection, this Cab retails for about $68.00 and was being offered at $19.99. Because of the $48.00 savings, we figured it was certainly worth a try. After enjoying one bottle, we went back and bought several more.

Visually, Bosche is a deep, vibrant burgandy color with a slight orange tint. It's sparkling and almost translucent.

On the nose, there is the distinct "heat" of alcohol which might lead you to believe the alcohol content is more than the stated 13.7%. The next aromas I noted were that of plums, and black cherries. There is also a spiciness and scent of cedar.

The taste is that of cherries and plums. There is also a hint of chocolate and coffee with full-bodied tannins and a rich, herbal quality. I would classify this as a complex wine and have noticed that decanting enhances the enjoyment of Freemark Abbey Bosche.

As an aside, I recently read that Freemark Abbey has filed bankruptcy, so it might be a good investment to buy a few bottles since it may not be produced in the future.
