If you enjoy ice wine, Inniskillin Vidal Ice Wine is one you should try. Visually, this ice wine is lustrous and clear with a pronounced yellow hue. Vibrant would be an accurate descriptor of its appearance. When you swirl the glass and look for legs, they are readily apparent.
This ice wine has a distinct fruity, floral bouquet. Necterines, tangerines and orange blossoms come to mind. The aroma is quite enticing and leaves you eagerly awating the first sip.
And with my first sip, I was hooked. On the palate, there is an intoxicating sweetness of fruit. What came to mind for me was mellon, mango, tangeine and a hint of vanilla. A very interesting an complex flavor combination. This is a very sweet, silky dessert wine, but it is not cloying.
Inniskillin Vidal Ice Wine is a fruity, forward wine that also has a strong mid-palate presence and a lingering finish. It is a great dessert wine that would go very well with cheese or cheesecake. Its alcohol content is 10.5 %. But, at about $50.00 per half bottle I'll be saving this one for special occasions.
